Baïonnette militaire turque M1903/38 issue du vaste programme de conversion et de standardisation des armes Mauser entrepris par la Turquie durant l’entre-deux-guerres. Ces baïonnettes provenaient de stocks variés d’origine allemande, austro-hongroise ou turque et furent modifiées afin d’uniformiser l’équipement de l’armée turque.
L’exemplaire présente une lame droite en acier, une poignée en bois rivetée ainsi qu’un fourreau métallique d’époque. Les marquages visibles sur la lame, dont « 5317 B » et « S/1766 », correspondent à des numéros de contrôle ou d’inventaire appliqués durant son service militaire.
La forte patine d’origine, les traces d’usage et l’usure homogène témoignent d’une longue carrière militaire pouvant s’étendre de la Première Guerre mondiale jusqu’à la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Ces baïonnettes constituent aujourd’hui un excellent exemple de la politique turque de récupération, de modification et de modernisation de l’armement militaire.

This example features a straight steel blade, riveted wooden grips, and its original steel scabbard. Visible markings including “5317 B” and “S/1766” are inventory or inspection numbers commonly encountered on Turkish service bayonets.
The strong original patina, service wear, and consistent aging reflect a lengthy military career that may have spanned from the First World War through the Second World War. These bayonets are highly representative of Turkey’s practical approach to refurbishing and modernizing existing military equipment.
