Bouton militaire américain original datant d'environ 1820 à 1835, représentant l'un des premiers modèles de General Service utilisés par l'armée des États-Unis après la Guerre de 1812.

Fabriqué en cuivre ou laiton doré, il présente un élégant monogramme « US » entouré de motifs végétaux décoratifs caractéristiques des productions militaires américaines du début du XIXe siècle. Ce type de bouton était utilisé sur divers uniformes réglementaires afin d'uniformiser l'apparence des troupes fédérales.

L'exemplaire conserve une belle patine ancienne ainsi qu'un relief bien visible malgré une usure normale liée à son âge. Il constitue un excellent témoin de la période de transition de l'armée américaine durant les décennies suivant la Guerre de 1812.

Manufactured in gilt brass or copper, it features an elegant "US" monogram surrounded by decorative foliage, a design characteristic of early 19th-century American military button production. This style was worn on various military uniforms as part of efforts to standardize the appearance of federal troops.

The button retains an attractive aged patina and strong detail despite normal wear from age and use. A fine example of early United States military uniform equipment from the post-War of 1812 era.
