L'exemplaire conserve son anneau d'attache d'origine ainsi qu'une belle patine ancienne. Malgré une usure normale liée à son âge, les détails du motif demeurent bien visibles. Ce type de bouton est beaucoup moins fréquent que les boutons militaires américains standards de la même époque et constitue une pièce intéressante de l'histoire de la frontière américaine.

Original American U.S. Indian Service button dating approximately from 1870 to 1900.

The button features the American federal eagle surrounded by the inscription "UNITED STATES", a pattern worn by personnel associated with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and other federal agencies involved in Native American administration during the late 19th century.

The piece retains its original attachment loop and displays an attractive aged patina. Despite honest wear, the design remains clearly visible. Indian Service buttons are significantly less common than standard U.S. military uniform buttons and represent an interesting piece of American frontier history.
