Le Deutsches Jungvolk constituait la branche des Jeunesses hitlériennes destinée aux garçons de 10 à 14 ans. Les jeunes y recevaient une formation physique, paramilitaire et idéologique, avant d'intégrer la Hitler-Jugend à l'âge de 14 ans.

Ce livret couvre une période charnière de l'histoire de l'Allemagne nazie. August est né en 1927; il avait donc 17 ans lors des derniers mois de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Bien qu'aucun document ne confirme son parcours militaire, il est tout à fait plausible qu'il ait été mobilisé à la fin du conflit, comme ce fut le cas pour de nombreux adolescents allemands durant les derniers mois de la guerre.

Original Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ) membership booklet, the boys' branch of the Hitler Youth (Hitler-Jugend) under Nazi Germany, intended for boys aged 10 to 14.

This booklet is fully identified to August Schneidawind, born October 23, 1927, admitted to the Deutsches Jungvolk on May 1, 1937, and officially issued in Munich on January 1, 1939.

Following extensive research and transcription of the original Sütterlin handwriting, the following information has been identified:

The Deutsches Jungvolk was the junior division of the Hitler Youth, intended for boys between the ages of 10 and 14. Members received physical training, paramilitary instruction, and ideological indoctrination before transferring to the Hitler Youth at age 14.

This booklet documents an important period in the history of Nazi Germany. Born in 1927, August was 17 years old during the final months of the Second World War. While no documentation currently confirms his military service, it is entirely plausible that he was mobilized during the closing stages of the conflict, as happened to many German teenagers during the final months of the war.
