INF. », la Victory Medal portant le même nommage, une Memorial Plaque en bronze gravée « CLARENCE LEMUEL RITCEY », ainsi qu'un insigne ou médaillon commémoratif en argent sterling gravé au revers « 282491 Pte. C.L. Ritcey ».
L'ensemble est conservé dans son ancien cadre familial avec montage d'époque. Le groupe est demeuré intact depuis sa remise à la famille, une caractéristique devenue particulièrement rare parmi les groupes canadiens de la Première Guerre mondiale.
Les recherches associées confirment que Clarence Lemuel Ritcey est décédé le 13 octobre 1918 à l'âge de 31 ans. Il servait au sein du 85th Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders) et fut inhumé au Hillcrest Cemetery de Lunenburg, en Nouvelle-Écosse. La cause du décès est identifiée comme « phthisis », terme médical utilisé à l'époque pour désigner la tuberculose pulmonaire.
Le 85th Battalion participa à plusieurs des plus importantes opérations du Corps canadien, notamment la crête de Vimy, Passchendaele, Amiens et l'Offensive des Cent-Jours.

Original Canadian First World War commemorative group attributed to Private Clarence Lemuel Ritcey, service number 282491, of the 85th Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders), Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF).
The group includes the officially named British War Medal impressed "282491 PTE. C. L. RITCEY 85-CAN. INF.", the similarly named Victory Medal, a bronze Memorial Plaque bearing the inscription "CLARENCE LEMUEL RITCEY", and a sterling silver commemorative badge or medallion engraved on the reverse "282491 Pte. C.L. Ritcey".

Research accompanying the group confirms that Clarence Lemuel Ritcey died on October 13, 1918, at the age of 31.
