Veste de service originale modèle M-1944 « Ike Jacket » de l’US Army Air Forces, datée de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale (1944-1945). Cette veste en laine olive drab porte les insignes US Army Air Forces au col ainsi que le prestigieux écusson de la Eighth Air Force, principale force de bombardement stratégique américaine opérant depuis l’Angleterre contre l’Allemagne nazie.

L’intérieur est identifié au nom Hutchinson (ou Hutchison), accompagné d’initiales et d’un marquage de chambrée. Les recherches suggèrent un possible lien avec James Lee Hutchinson, radio-opérateur/mitrailleur du 490th Bomb Group, basé à Eye, Angleterre, durant les dernières phases de la guerre.

La veste conserve ses insignes d’époque et présente une usure authentique cohérente avec le service actif, incluant quelques trous de mites et petites pertes de tissu.

English Description

Original US Army Air Forces M-1944 “Ike Jacket” dating from the final years of World War II (1944-1945). This olive drab wool service jacket retains its original USAAF collar insignia and the shoulder patch of the Eighth Air Force, the principal American strategic bombing force operating from England against Nazi Germany.

The interior is marked to Hutchinson (or Hutchison), along with initials and barracks markings. Research suggests a possible connection to James Lee Hutchinson, a radio operator/gunner with the 490th Bomb Group stationed at Eye, England, during the final stages of the war.

The jacket remains in original wartime configuration and displays honest service wear, including minor moth damage and small fabric losses consistent with age and use.
